My first taste of southern cuisine so I do not have a reference point. Not that this seemed to matter. The food here was absolutely excellent, from simple biscuits (not that I am au fait with biscuit making) to my main course of snapper that was beautifully put together. The chamomile cake deliciously mixed sweet and sharp.

Such a disappointment. The hush puppies were ok. The crab salad was mediocre. Ordered the $120 strip steak medium and it was raw. Sent it back and it was still raw. Told them to pack it up so we could take it home and cook it. The sides were some sort of puffed up whipped potato that disintegrated when I put it on my plate. The green beans were raw, crunchy. The third side was some unidentifiable leafy stuff. Got the Benne Oil cake for dessert and it was not at all satisfying. We think it was their leftover cornbread. The black cherry ice cream had no flavor. The $3 biscuit was the best thing, but $3 for a biscuit? Sat by the window and watched two flies on the inside panes fly around the window and our table the whole time. Oh they did take the dessert off our bill because of our dissatisfaction with the steak. Our waiter was very good.
