Someone from the city should be held accountable! The central library has a horrible parking situation! Spent at least half an hour just get in and out of the library parking only to figure out there’s no parking spots. However, many “reserved” spots (I was told they are for employees) remain empty. Many times we attempted to find a parking there and same thing happened over and and over again! This is a demonstration of irresponsible behavior from our city officials and elected representatives, how our tax money is spent on a brand new public facility like this, with certain known capacities, yet no parking available for tax paying citizens like us. Some action should be taken and those responsible for the parking arrangement decision should be held accountable!!! Enough of bureaucracy and no accountability!

Beautiful building... if you can access it! Not enough parking spaces for Austin - there is a limited number of spaces underneath the library, and none on the surrounding streets. The parking machine is AT THE EXIT (try navigating that 90 degree turn); I often have to pay an increased fee to get out because I've had to wait so long to exit [first 30 minutes free - afterwards $++]. Can not access the library in the morning. Must wait until later in the day to find parking for library access - heads up if your using a multi-purpose meeting room scheduled for the morning. Once inside, it's a wonderful experience; beautiful building; plenty of work space; friendly library staff. Also great views of surrounding country-side. But, it's too difficult to find parking to access the building. :(
