I am an RN and have taken care of dozens of Dr. Weinfeld's patients over the past ten years. Witnessing his care and the satisfaction of his patients made it a no brainer to choose him as my surgeon. I broke my nose when I was 16 and it left me with a deviated septum. I became a mostly mouth breather and felt like I was going to suffocate anytime my mouth couldn't get air. (while eating, pillow in the way while sleeping, etc.) I spent twenty years pretty miserable, in fear of having surgery. I was afraid I wouldn't look like myself and was also worried about the procedure and the recovery. Sitting here, six weeks post surgery I am kicking myself that I didn't do this procedure twenty years ago. I woke up in recovery and even with packing in my nose, I could actually breathe out of it. It was incredible. The pain medication that they prescribed was right on, I stuck to the schedule and never felt severe pain. I did several nasal flushes a day and that really helped when it came time to removing the packing. I highly recommend doing that. A month before surgery I cut out sugar, alcohol and stuck to a high protein, low carb diet and I think that helped with my healing process as well. I had some bruising and swelling but within two weeks several friends and family members told me they couldn't even tell that I had surgery. Dr. Weinfeld is knowledgable, takes his time with you, and makes you feel like you are in the best hands. Because you are! His staff is amazing. Very responsive and make you feel cared for. Don't delay having this procedure if you are suffering like I was.
