More challenges are arising for the Texas economy, both in the manufacturing and service sectors, according to new reports from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. The state's manufacturing activity declined in November, according to business executives responding to the Texas Manufacturing Survey Outlook, with a drop in new orders and some companies starting to cut jobs."This month's survey painted an ominous picture for Texas manufacturing — production was flat and new orders declined sharply. Job growth has slowed and a rising share of firms noted layoffs," said Emily Kerr, Dallas Fed senior business economist.
